| What
this diagnostic tool aims to do
Systematically identify what principles of Best Value may require most attention
in your organisation. This is based on consideration of your views on two related
factors – the importance of different Best Value requirements, and your
views on where your organisation is now in addressing them.
The tool provides some suggestions as to the type of action that might be most
appropriate, either for you, or for senior management more generally.
How it works in practice
- The whole survey will only take approximately 45 minutes to complete.
- There is one section for each of the 9 Best Value characteristics.
You do not have to be complete the entire survey in one step – you can go away and return at a later date to complete
the other sections.
- Indicative completion times are given at the beginning of each of the 9 sections.
- There are a number of prompts in each section. For each, you are asked to score
your views on both the importance of the principle and how you consider your organisation
is currently performing.
- All sections must be answered fully for the diagnosis to be complete.
Once all sections have been completed, the diagnosis tool will assess the information
you have provided.
- Finally, a printable report will highlight any Best Value weaknesses within your
organisation and provide recommendations on appropriate solutions.
