Our Health & Safety team forms part of the firm's Litigation Division. We recognise that regulatory compliance is a subject that should be top of the agenda for every business and that all businesses, irrespective of their size or industry sector need advice on the regulatory frameworks which impact on their day to day activities and we are regularly instructed in Health & Safety Prosecutions and in related Civil cases in the Sheriff Court and Court of Session. Instructions come from a variety of sources and include businesses as well as major insurers and trade bodies

The Health & Safety team provides practical advice in a complex and often uncertain area of law where increasingly the Courts demonstrate a greater readiness to implement their powers of sentencing to the full. Advice can be given on personal liability issues for Directors and Officers of Companies, liability and policy issues for insurers and on powers of Enforcement Agencies.

Linking in with the firm's Environmental expertise the team has also provided litigation support for clients in their dealings with Enviromental Agencies.
